I have just seen this amazing film at the cinema by director Guillaume Canet.
The film is adapted from a novel by Harlan Coben.
The film is in French with English subtitles. The story has a good paced and intriguing narrative which leaves you satisfied and engaged. I liked the mix of what seemed like quite traditional thriller components with intellectual hooks and fast paced action at times. The foot chase in the film where the lead charecter Alex Beck (François Cluzet) is desperately trying to out run the French Police trying to arrest him is superb and i don't believe I have seen such a pursuit done better.
All of the characters are very believable and well acted. The way that the Alex Beck interacts with the gangster Bruno to get help when on the run is believable and astute. Most of the cast I have to admit are unknown to me apart from Kristin Scott Thomas, but I will definitely look out for work from this director and cast in the future.
The sound track is also very good and well matched to the films mood.
